Listen to this romantic meet-cute between my newly married client, Linda, and her Boaz-quality man of God, Corey.

If you were in doubt that masculine pursuit still existed, this story will be an encouragement to you.

This is recognition in action. Simple. Natural. Almost effortless.

Recognition clearly orchestrated by God as His children faithfully act and walk in wisdom.

[00:00:00] Today we have the pleasure of talking with my beautiful former client, Linda, who left a simple comment, "Beautiful photo." That was all she said. "Beautiful photo" on an older lady's photograph, and this older lady had a son who saw Linda's comment and instantly thought, "Who is this girl?" And you will hear over the course of this interview their ensuing romance, how he tracks her down and became sure that she could be the one for him before he had even met her.

It's so awesome because I often talk about the fact that men want to feel something, and that is what Linda's presence, without saying a word, was able to create. So enjoy this [00:01:00] interview with my beautiful client and learn what it feels like to be recognized by someone that you recognize yourself, by a Boaz.

So Linda, I'd love it if you could just introduce yourself, tell us who you are, um, tell us about the small town that you live in. Just give us a little bit info of exactly who is Linda that we're about to talk to. My name is Linda Worms. I live in Manitoba, Canada. Um, that is just east of the border. And so I am, uh, also a dating coach.

I just do things from the trauma perspective. Um, who am I? And the things that I'm passionate about is helping people, and that's something that I think that's how we met because I reached out and then that you did that for me, [00:02:00] and to help me along and to guide me in a lot of ways, which I'm very grateful for.

There was a moment in our coaching where you said I gave you permission to date, that and you think that was the starting point for you. I came from a very religious background, so dating was very looked upon, down upon, even though, like, they wanted you to get married, but you were supposed to meet one person and that person you're supposed to marry.

And if you ever went on a date with somebody, it didn't work out, then it kind of felt like it was a failure. And so for me, I lived under that whole concept of that belief. And when we were coaching, I just remembered that you picked up on that belief that I had, um, that I needed permission, to that you gave me permission to be like, "No, dating is a good thing."

And then you led me through those steps with, um, the whole concept of like, no, if you meet somebody, you have a conversation, you get to know somebody that isn't the right person, that is not the end of the, of your whole [00:03:00] dating life that, um, you're never gonna meet anybody. And so when you gave me permission, you said, just, "Linda, I give you permission to date."

And it was just like, that was like, I think the, kind of the moment that I just realized that I just needed somebody to validate that this was a good thing, um, because of where I had come out of the whole concept of dating. So that was definitely a very key moment for me. Yeah. That's beautiful. And let's just give the women listening, you have permission to date.

Absolutely. Go out there and talk to men. We give it to you. Linda and I give it to you. There you go. I love that. Uh, can you take us back to before you met your husband? What was life like? What were you hoping would change before you met him? Um, this is actually a very interesting thing 'cause last year I had been, um, very much being intentional with working my beliefs, working with my heart, opening up to love.

I've been very [00:04:00] intentional with that, and this was, December 27th. Um, one of my friends had come out from Texas to visit her mom, and I, and she invited me for lunch. So I went there. We have a mutual friend, and our mutual friend's like, "So Linda, it's your turn next." And I said, "Absolutely."

But I had no one. I hadn't gone on a date in, in a little while. I had... Like, I just felt like, oh, I just humored her in this. I was like, "Yes," like, "This is gonna be me." But I had, like... You know, when I say, like, I said yes to her to humor her, but I didn't feel, like, anything. And then it was the interesting thing is that that same day, Corey's mom, I'm friends with her on Facebook, and I had liked and commented on their Christmas photo.

He, that same day, December 27th, um, found that comment that I had commented on his mom's photo on her Facebook page, and he went and checked out my Facebook page. And he still, till today, he has a screenshot of [00:05:00] my f- my Facebook profile. Oh my goodness. Does he... What did he tell you he was thinking? Like, what made him take the screenshot?

That's amazing. Um, apparently me helping other women was something that he really liked. He's like, "Yeah, she's of service." And he had been going through my, uh, profile, and he'd been like, "Yeah, sh- she seems that she's single."

And so what he had done is actually created a dating profile to see if he could find me on Facebook Dating. And so- He was determined, Linda.

Yeah. Absolutely.

Um, do you think he was like almost like attracted to you already? Do you think he was, he already had a little crush on you just by seeing your Facebook profile? Um, so that's what he tells me. 'Cause I sometimes just, I just ask because then sometimes it's like, "So how did you know [00:06:00] that I was the one?" Yeah.

And then he said, "Well, it's not that hard to find out." He said, "I looked through your photos." You- he said... Some of the things that he talks about was that I was very well-dressed and the way that I spoke about what I believed, because I have very strong faith in Jesus, and he loved that I have the faith and that I was serving women.

And the overall things that he had seen about me on Facebook, he was very attracted to. And so when, um, he created the profile, what he had done that I didn't know he could do, now I found out, is that, um, just put it onto like 35, uh, mile radius, so then only the girls that came up with that small radius would show up, and I showed up like almost right away.

Oh my goodness. Linda, this is so fun because you said something so key. It's really not that hard. Now he was, like, attracted to you before he even met you. Okay, you have to tell me, what was that first conversation like? He didn't, [00:07:00] he didn't tell you that he had been looking for you, did he? What, what, what did he say to you?

Um, so when he... It was very interesting. So when he had found me on Facebook Dating, he liked it, and I saw his photo and I liked back, and the first thing he just simply stated was, like, it was, it was like, Christmas was almost over, if I was ready for the new year, and he just did a very n- like, kind of general, but kind of wanting to see where I was, um, if I was interested in having a conversation with him.

Yeah. That's what he tells me. He wanted to just have a, a general question about the year and to see if I was interested in, in having a conversation. And so then I just responded back. And when we started talking, I didn't recognize who he was, and he thought I knew who he was, and then all of a sudden he's like, "You know my mom."

I was like, "Wait, what? I know your mom? How do I know your mom?" And then he told me who she was and I was like, "Oh, I had no idea." So he knew who I was, um, but I didn't know who [00:08:00] he was. I mean, that's pretty smooth, Linda. All right. So did you guys have coffee? Did you, did he take you to dinner? What was your first date?

We started messaging on the 28th of December 29th of December. And then, um, we just had been having conversations and he told me before we met that he was hoping I was the one. And I was like- Aw ... that's, that's my lot. But for him, even like I asked him like last week, I was like, "So why, when you said that, what, what was it like?

Like, how did you know?" And he said, "I don't know. I couldn't tell you. I just had a feeling." And I was like- Hmm ... "Okay, I'll go with that." Because he's, he... When I ask him, he says he doesn't have a logical explanation towards why he's like, no, he was hoping that I was the one. But that was before he met me in person.

That's romantic, though. Very. And so then on that day, he told me he had [00:09:00] to go to back to work. I just simply stated I was hoping to have, uh, met him before he went off to work. And then he's like, "I think I can make that work." I was like, "Oh, okay." I love a girl who knows how to ask for what she wants. And then he brought me, um, tea from Tim Horton's, and then we just had a conversation.

And then at the end of the night, I just asked like, "Do you want a hug?" And then he said, "Absolutely." And then I just felt like, I was like, "This guy does not wanna leave." And then he just asked before he left what he could do for me that I would have a good week and that we would still feel like that we could sort of stay connected.

And I just simply stated like, um, two or three phone calls until he, till his, uh, two weeks are up, and then we could, like have a date. And he said, yeah, that wasn't a problem. The problem was we didn't have two or three phone calls, we had a call every [00:10:00] night for two or three hours I saw that one coming.

Linda, when did you realize there was something different about him? 'Cause it sounds like you're very happy to go along with his pursuit. So when did you realize this is a different type of guy? Um, for me, one of the things that really stood out is that I was always the one asking questions. And the, like, general, in general in life, people would be like, "Linda, really?

Always asking questions." And so I had kind of toned that part of me down, but this time it was different. He was just asking questions, and he did this very differently. He would just, he would just state, um, just a random question, and then he would just ask me different questions. And then he would... Then after he had asked me two, and then he would be like, "It's your turn to ask me a random question."

I was like, "Oh. Oh, that's interesting." I hadn't had this before, that a guy would be like, "Oh, it's your turn to ask me a random question." And then we just... It just opened [00:11:00] the door for me to ask him anything about his life, where he was with God, what his beliefs were, without any feeling like, am I crossing the line?

Is he ready for me to ask this question? But this really opened the floor for me that I could ask him any questions that I felt on my heart that I wanted to know about him, and that, that really, um, changed the tone for me, um, because I didn't feel like I was the one being pur- like, pursuing him. But he was very consistent with pursuing me, um, with random questions, but also being very intentional with having conversations, and just being very present, and that I hadn't experienced before.

And when I, when we had those conversations over those two weeks, um, I just realized that this is very different than anything I'd ever experienced before. Mm-hmm. Yeah, so not only was he [00:12:00] intentional, like, I'm wondering, like- What were some of the answers that he gave that you were like, "Okay, check, check, check."

Like, he must have been giving you the right, the right answers to your questions, right? It was so funny 'cause we were so much the same. It was not even funny. And sometimes I would ask him and I'd be like, "Kane, we are so the same. I don't even know if this is a good thing." He said, "No, it's a good thing being the same."

Um, some of the things that were very silly, um, he's like, "So how do you like your steak?" And I was like, "Well , um, medium or medium rare." He's like, "Wait, did you just read my mail? Like, that's how I like it." Um, and then with traveling, he's big into traveling, and I was like, "Well, I wanna go this place." He's like, "Well, I wanna go this place."

And so and then we just connected on that, and then connected with our beliefs, and we just connected with, like, the little things that we didn't have to argue about. His, h- his very biggest question was, 'cause he had lost a lot of weight, and he still wanted to lose a [00:13:00] lot of weight. So some of the big questions he had for me was, "How are you eating?

What are you eating?" And the eating, the habits around eating. Because he had lost so much weight, he wanted to continue the weight loss. And so... And I was like, "No." And I told him the way that I was eating that was very specific for me, that I kept a, like, a very active lifestyle, and that I ate healthy portions, and that I didn't go eat out, out to eat too often, and that I, like, cooked my meals at home and stuff.

So we, we really, um, had a lot in common in, in so many, so many ways. It kind of feels like a destiny when that happened. Yes. You know? Like, I think of it like a destiny echo. Like, I'm not the only one, and you meet someone and they're, they wanna be talking to you, and they're saying some of the same things you are, and it feels like, it feels like this destiny ar- uh, shimmering around you.

Um, so was there a moment [00:14:00] where the two of you were like- This is the one. I'm, I've, I've learned... And the, the funny, the reason why I'm asking this, Linda, is I bet, I'm just gonna guess, it was quick, right? Yup. It

was, um, for me, I kind of knew, um, b- before he came back from leaving for the first two weeks based on our conversations we had, all the questions that he'd asked me, all the questions I'd asked him, um, around our beliefs and what we stood for and everything. It was just, um, it's a moment that's an internal, it's an internal, um, check mark that it's just like, it's not like a big moment that there's like fireworks or that it's like all these things.

It was just very quiet, and it was just like, [00:15:00] like, no, I think that we align on these things. It's like a peace. Maybe I could explain that in that way. Mm. It's just a moment where you just know. You'd be like, you don't need anybody to explain anything. It's just a moment where you're just like, "Yeah, th- this feels right."

Mm. So beautiful. And so what's it like being married to a man where this just feels right? Where he's intentional and is so similar to you, like you're so aligned. Like, what's it like being married to a man like that? It's really good. Um, just being single for so long, it took me a little while to, to con- to know that somebody lived in my house.

Yeah. 'Cause he moved into the apartment that I lived in. It's been, um- Company that's sweet. I don't know if that makes a sense, but, like, it's, um, it's doing things together. I don't have to do things by myself anymore. Um, [00:16:00] doing dishes together, 'cause we cook, like, a lot. I make a lot of dishes. So we do dishes together, and it just feels like when you have good company all the time.

Mm-hmm. And you don't need to do things on your own. We go on trips. We, like, go to mountains, we go hiking, and it's just, like, we go for lots of walks. It's, it's, you get to do everything with your best friend, and it just never, you just never get tired of them. Oh, I'm so happy for you, babe. Thank you.

I'm so happy for you. God is so good. What would you like to say to the Christian women listening to this who wonder whether the kind of man she wants even exists, or worries that she might somehow miss him? What would you like to say to her? I would, first off, I would say be very, like, yourself. Don't try to be someone else.

And I would encourage you, um, [00:17:00] dress for your comfort, not the fear of what people might say around you. Um, if you feel like that makeup is something you have to wear in order to be beautiful, I would encourage you to t- to, uh, test that and to really find out your fears around what you wear, who you are, how you show up, and the photos that you share online and the, the, the...

With your, uh, dating profile, um, what are you sharing? And I would encourage you, be very, um, honest, be very direct. If you like cats, post cats. If you don't like cats, be very honest with it. Um, if you like going hiking, if you like, um, if you like mountains. I, I just find that the more honest you get to be with yourself, the more you get to show up, not in spite of what other people think, but how you want to be perceived and how, that you wanna feel really good about yourself.

Um, I believe that that's absolutely key in [00:18:00] actually finding a good man because then he can... Because I've noticed that men feel, when they look at photos, they are very, they have an in- they have an intuition as well. And if they come across your profile, that they can sense, like, "No, she's not, like, covering up.

She's not trying to be somebody else. She's very intentional. She's, like, open with her faith. She is, like, very direct. She's not hiding, but she's not, like, out there, uh, trying to get every guy out there, but she's just in her space. She's comfortable with who she is in her own skin." Mm-hmm.

I think that's what Corey saw when he saw you. Yeah. Yeah. He saw a woman comfortable in her own skin, who was there to serve other people. How incredibly beautiful. Well, babe, I am so excited to hear all the more adventures. You keep telling me about these adventures that you two have, [00:19:00] and I really just hope the best for you.

Who knows what God has for you guys? So God bless. Awesome. Thank you.
